What are/were your last 5 obsessions? The experts always dub Meteorology, Astronomy, History, etc. But what about you?

Right now: AS

Previous ones in reverse chronological order: Hollywood Gossip blogs, British Monarch History (The Tudors especially), American History (the presidents in sequential order), Genealogy

I spend a few months on each with little else occupying my gray matter.

I don't really have five at the moment - just the one. I am currently trying to work out all possible releases and previous tour dates for a vast number of bands, then the members playing in the bands and what bands they have played in. Sounds silly I know... but keeps me happy.

1. AS
2. Sex and S&M (this is an ongoing and never ending obsession, yes I am safe about it)
3. Sociology, Psychology, Religion. Anything having to do with the human sciences. (also ongoing and never ending)
4. Extensive plans for 2 A frame cottages in the woods, including blue prints and a cost analysis for getting off the grid.
5. Late roman to middle ages. Most specifically the rise of Christianity and subsequent conflict with the Celtic Pagans.

House (Last Oct-present)
That 70s Show (May 2006-Sept 2006)
The Nanny (Summer 2003-Fall 2006)
Lord of the Rings (sometime in 8th grade)
American Idol (2002-Ruben and Clay year lol)

(Those are actually kind of the only hardcore obsessions I've had. I had a thing for rocks and stuff like that when I was younger but I can't remember if they were obsessions or interests. Only The Nanny and House were extreme must-learn-every-known fact obsessions. I have extreme interests in wikipedia, hollywood gossip, AS, and some other things. Neopets has been an ongoing interest that fades in and out.)

What really constitutes an obsession anyway? I've never figured this out, though apparently I had an odd obsession with scientific things when I was young. Oh well, going on what I presume you mean:

Computers
Gaming
Warhammer
Music
People...? I just find it interesting to look at people...

Starting with last autumn and working up to my current obsession...

5. Australia (spent a fortune on culture and travel books, my bookshelf is packed, LOL)
4. Andy Warhol
3. AS
2. American music (folk, country, gospel type stuff)
1. Prisons

But the most intense obsessions I've had in the past have been Russia, ancient Egypt, and Pizzaro (the guy who went off to Peru to conquer the Incas). Okay, I realize I'm cheating by adding these, LOL.

Plus, as a writer, I'm always obsessed with whatever novel I'm working on... :)

1) disc jockeys and top 40 (as child)
2) meteorology (older child--sorry it's so stereotypical)
3) trains and railroads (adolescent)
4) bird watching (adolescent/young adult)
5) U.S. Supreme Court and Justices (young adult)

I could name a few more.
