I feel like our mods have been unfairly criticized in several other recent threads. From where I sit I feel that they have done quite an admirable job of keeping the peace here, whilst our membership continues to grow rapidly, thus ever increasing their workload.

With many other boards, the content of posts is at least somewhat controlled by the fact that the board is devoted to a very limited number of topics (ie sports, music etc). At WP that is not the case as there is no such defacto restriction on posts. Members here can and do discuss a very wide range of topics, and this does at times lead to conflicts between members. The mods then have to attempt to make
fair and rational decisions to protect these individual members as well as the WP community as a whole. I feel that our mods have done a great job of this and have done so without censoring the content of members posts like happens when conflict occurs on many other discussion boards.

And Remember folks...being a mod is a time consuming job, one that is not paid, and one that means that someone is angry with you all of the time.

So. I just wanted to say "thanks and keep up the good work"

Thanks stlf, it helps to know that the work is appreciated. The mods are chosen, in part, for not taking that kind of thing too personally.

So far so reasonably good. Especially for an aspie forum where this is to my knowledge the closest i have seen to nuetral in politics etc. Im naturally suspicious of authority and am always on the look out for injustices but i agree, so far they have done a good job of keeping threads under control without being heavy-handed.

Being a moderator is not a job or occupation. It is a hobby and a choice.

Seriously there would be something wrong if they did get paid. I don't fell sorry for them for reasons in the above text I quoted, if they do a good job i'll tell them, if they don't, i'll tell them.
