I know I have a lot of anxiety when meeting other people. I imagine this is true with other people with AS. Has anyone tried hynosis to relieve the anxiety. I have heard about the self hypnosis that some people use every day.

Has anyone tried yoga?

How do you hypnotize yourself? I would like to try this.

I tried hypnosis to help with severe public speaking anxiety, it helped, it was through psychologist not just self-hypnosis.

Also tried some ‘self-esteem’ building sessions, which I think have helped.

The best help I have found is knowledge gatherings and processing, the more I know about AS and how it relates to me, the more I can use logic to address my perceived weaknesses.

I'm at the point where I'll try virtually anything; except for yoga, that is. The horror stories I've collected from poeple who attended a yoga session or two cause me to consider carefully. 8O

Without a doubt, the best way to self hypnotize is using the Silva Method by Jose Silva. You can pick this book up at any book store for 5 bucks. Basically the theory is you use meditation to change your mood, but also to change things in life for your health, other's health, and creating things to happen in your life. The theory states that when we meditate we are using the same brain waves we use before going to sleep, the Alpha waves. Beta waves are what we use during normal consciousness. The book states that we have extreme mental power during the Alpha waves, but when we meditate we have control over what we think about.

Yes; I've been hypnotised several times for several things.

It works fantastically. Very relaxing and calming; it's basically the state between waking and sleeping but suspended. You wake up very soothed, feeling very positive about things. I really really love it - would recommend it to anyone.

My brother taught himself to hypnotise people from a book he found online (e-book for free!). Bit of a scary thought, but if he can do it to other people I'm sure you'll be able to find a self-hypnosis book online easily enough.
