Uh, I have no experience but I'd say DO NOT start any kind of supplement w/o talking to your doctor b/c I think they may put parasites like tapeworms in the pills :eew:. I'd try a healthy diet & an exercise program your doctor recommends.

What helped me lose some 30kgs a while ago was to center my diet even more on carbohydrates and to eat only three meals a day and nothing in between. The reasoning behind it is that your body starts burning fat whenever you go without food for about four hours or more in a stretch (this in turn has to do with blood sugar levels). Carbohydrates (noodles, bread, potatoes...) on the other hand provide the energy your body needs and keep you from experiencing hunger attacks. In addition to this you can eat plenty of fruit and vegetables.

I have only put on about a tenth of what I lost in the three and a half years since I changed my eating habits. The main selling points for me are that you can eat pretty much anything you enjoy, only not too much and only during mealtimes, and that it is not a diet but a complete change of the eating habits which means that the positive effects do not end after some weeks because (optimally) your eating habits don't go back to what they were before.

You'd have to try this out for some weeks though; some peoples' metabolisms do not really react to the high-carb diet because they digest carbohydrates and proteines somewhat differently.

My way would be to not restrict any food from the food groups, unless of course you just can't stomach them. Drink only water. Exercise 3-5 times a week. Start slow and build up your strength. I can't stress that enough. Launching into a full on exercise routine is unhealthy and you'll probably get so exhausted you give up anyway. Learn your BMI and what calories you usually require a day and take 200 off. 1300-1500 was good for me. Never go below 1200 calories. Going off alcohol makes you lose weight much more quickly.

I actually lost a whole lot of weight on Ritalin. I don't recommend that because I actually need it for focus and motivation. I also lost as much weight on the GFCF diet but got tired of not enjoying food.

Agreed. I've heard so much bad about diet pills, and I know they are not healthy.
