How do visual spatial-difficulties work?

So I have a low performance IQ and high verbal IQ. I don’t notice any problems with visual art and I love doing realistic sculptures. I do have issues reading maps and obviously visual-spatial tests that show up on IQ tests. Is there any other reason my PIQ would be low? This whole IQ business is confusing.
