So today, i was on my way out the door, because i had to go to the bathroom, couldnt wait, one of the girls was like where u going, i reply, "I have to pee, i feel it sitting right at the bottom of my bladder, if i don't do it now, itll go away for awhile and my bladder will be sitting there in pain, and i dont want a urinary infection." Its funny i cant say or answer the simple stuff like yes, or no, but when it comes to explaining things i know, im the master at it lol. Anyways, my bf just gave me a weird look afterwards and goes "you give away tooooo much information, don't think she needed to hear that, a simple "gotta go to the bathroom" would work!" Now that i think about it, i do this a lot  . Does anybody else ever just say tooo much information?

I don't, but that's because I don't say very much, and that's because I do things like that. In other words...um...yes?

I sometimes can go on and on, but I have learned to be concise. I don't like to talk much.

In the book, "Cheaper by the Dozen" about a family growing up in the Depression Era, people never talked about personal or things they felt were "private"...even the need to go to the bathroom. When the children needed to go to the bathroom, they would say, "I have to go see Mrs. Murphy..." especially convenient at those times when they needed to stop somewhere while the family was traveling in the car.

It was a private, discreet way of saying, "I have to pee."...and family and friends knew the reason for the need to visit Mrs. Murphy...she existed in many places!

I have a tendency to do that, but I am not keen on reciprocated verbal donations. When folks come back and say, "Oh, that's better". Too much, dude...

I used to, until someone hung up on me while speaking on the telephone.

I was told by my boss to learn to be concise. I think it is difficult for people into details and who are confused by simple non-verbal communication to communicate in a way they would not like to communicate.

I definitely tend to over-elaborate my thoughts/comments - I'm pretty good at picking up on when I should shut up, but my obsessive brain insists I just keep going. If I force myself to stop talking sooner, I lose my train of thought and stumble my words.

Hmmmm...now that I think about it, I tend to write with too much information, too (emails and such).

I guess I describe it as "detail diarrhea" - can't stop it, gotta get it all out!

Oh well - for what I lack in communicative conciseness I make up for in charm and humor.

I always overexplain sometimes to the point of by the time I finish my statement they forgot what I was talking about. As far as too much yea I do that also usually because I want things to be crystal clear.

Don't be eskimo. (That might sound racist now, but it's from the book "Cheaper by the Dozen.") :D

I tend to over detail. I don't give out too much private information. I have a hard time with giving out that kind of private information, even to doctors.

But I over detail in lots of other areas... go off on tangents detailing info that no one really needs, but I don't know how to sort through what is vital to the discussion and what isn't.

When I write papers they tend to be much longer than what is asked because I have so much to say..... and it's ALL interesting...

To me, that's classic Asperger's/autism stuff.

All the time...

This is a short reply because I'm fighting the urge and my hands (RSI) are very sore.

I'm like that too.
I'm obsessed with precision and logic when I communicate; hence all the details backing each other up.

LOL! TMI is my nickname. And, yes, when I have to pee, stop talking to me or you are getting a dissertation. So many times I TMI that i forget what I was talking about in the first place. Keep it going!

I tend to say too much all of the time. There was something I talked about a while ago on AS boards, about shooting my mouth off at a restaurant.I don't know if you remember that one age. I tend to say too much, too loudly. I can be totally oblivious of those around me. I can be quite blunt. Sometimes I break the golden rules about talking about politics, or religion. I make jokes that I think are funny, but are actually offensive to some. Sometimes I am insensitive to peoples beliefs. I tend to care little what people think of me. Some people like me. If they don't it doesn't bother me. I am aware of this problem, and it is another reason I avoid socializing. I tend to just blurt things out sometimes. I have trouble with volume control as well. I used to give wayyy to much unessissary verbal info, but have learned not to do that, I wish I could say the same for typing, when I can answer a question with just a few sentances I instead go off and write an entire page. This was good in collage when I wrote the longest thesis I ever have, it was a thesis on the D-day invasion on 6.6.44 and ended up being over 40 pages long when it was required to be at least 15 and I beleive I had the thickest paper in my history class, and also happened to have the highest grade in that class.

Ahh... See what I mean... I did it again, too much info, heh
