Do you find yourself getting incredibly competitve at Sports such as tennis or badminton (And to a lesser extent team sports)?

Do you find yourself being angry at not being the top of the class constantly at a certain area of academia or the best at a sport, more so than NT's.

Well once I tried out for my local town Baseball team and I felt like the effort I put into was above or atleast on par with everyone who made the team in the tryout. Unfortunately when I came back the next day my name was not on the list, and I felt very dissapointed an angry with myself when I was not chosen as I am acctually pretty good at sports and kind of liked baseball.

I believe most of it was due to not FITTING into the team socially...also maybe and or not being friends with the coach played a bigger part in this who knows.

Also tried out for my middle school basketball team but did not even bother going for all the tryout days because I felt like i wouldn't make it anyway

but yah i am usually very competitive and don't have any problems playing sports with friends and stuff and I do like to win rather then lose :P

mayeb you should try sports like tennis or badminton that are 1 V 1 and not team based. Or extreme sports tyhat can be done in solitude.

Thinking about doing swordfighting but I have participate in boxing.

I could punch a 12th grader in boxing when I am 9th grade.

I always that that people with AS had a constant urge to be right, at least I always did, and so to even lose at checkers could be devastating to our ego.

I'm not really competitive. I let others take the spotlight before me.

I'm extremely competitive - table tennis, badminton, video games, chess, checkers, even UNO! Solitaire is boring. The extent of my trashtalking goes about to saying "I'm going to win," though. Not big on bragging.

If I'm playing a sport that I like, I always strive to win. I guess everyone else would say I'm very competitive in academia but I just try to do my best and that ends up being among the top.

I can't speak for others with Asperger's syndrome, but I am generally not the competitive sport. Mind you, I can enjoy a little friendly competition from time to time, but I have no interest or desire in engaging in nonstop competition with others (as seems to be fairly typical of the NT population, especially among males). I did well in school because it was pretty easy for me; I was never interested straight A's (well, I did want to be magna cum laude freshman year of high school so I could give a speech, but one B first semester changed that) or having the very best GPA. I just applied reasonable effort and got good grades.

I used to be competitive in sports and academics, but then I came to the realization that no one else cared, so I stopped caring myself...

I don't feel angry, I feel frustrated with myself when I (not top of class) don't do the best I can do.

I'm very competitive in activities I like. I always took pride in getting a good grade in a subject I liked. I also like competing in the annual spelling bee sponsored by the Adult Literacy Council, because I love to represent the library.

I don't like sports, and I've only done the bare minimum in school since the beginning (I'm in my freshman year of college and I still haven't worked hard).
