They look like a lot of fun. I personally want to buy a Vespa motor-scooter since I do not drive.

If you can ride a bike I don't think you'd have much problem with it.

I can tool around easily on my son's razor and I'm pretty clumsy.

I don't drive, but I ride a bike, and for some reason I have a big problem with operating a vehicle that I don't use my legs to propel (for lack of better wording)..So motorcycles, mopeds, scooters and the like horrify me even worse than driving...

..but definitley all power to you.

Ya those SEGWAYS look neat but dont seem to practical for getting around long distance, they look slow and I cant see why someone would not wanna just walk, its faster and cheaper, plus when these SEGWAYS get low on power the gyro-stableizer fails and so it looses balance.

Anyways richardbenson do some reacherch before you go and buy one because you may need to register it with the dept of motor vehicles, also it may be illegal to operate some of these on roads and sidewalks.

Funny I should come across this thread, because I am planning to get one. Don't have time to learn to drive so I could get my license, and don't wanna pay a fortune for car insurance plus the car itself.

I have thought about it. I have a driving license but don't like driving.

I actually don't mind talking public transport and walking everywhere for the most part. I tend not to go in rush hour if I can help it.

With shifting things having a moped doesn't really help though. It doesn't help the fact that I get lost easily and I don't trust myself. Yes they are easier to drive, but also a bit easier to have a fatal accident with the amount of traffic around London.

I can’t believe I expended so much energy trying to get a license, what an anticlimax.

I haven’t driven for a long time but I might try going round the bock just to refresh like I did a year ago lol.

edit - it might have something to do with the fact that I felt I was being used by somebody that confused me that I happened to offer rides to.

In my area, the local law states that anything under 49cc you can drive on sidewalks without registering and license, and anything over 49cc you need to drive on the street with a motorcycle license.

In the UK you can't you a push bike on the pavement unless you are dismounted. It doesn't stop people doing it, technically you are supposed to use the road or cycle path. Pavements are for pedestrians.
