It just sounds like something that should be derogatory to me. I really really really don't like the term at all.

Its only called asperger, because its named after Hans Asperger

"it also should be void since he displayed the condition"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_Asperger

Does not matter what name you put on it in reality the condition has been called tones of things in history...

I like the term 'Aspie', make it sound less like a medical condition - makes me feel slightly easier talking about it believe it or not.

I dislike it... but I use it.

I don't "hate" it. I think it sounds derogatory and flippant. But typing out "someone who has Asperger's" can sometimes just take too long. Especially when using it a lot. I am trying to swap to using AS but it just doesn't "fit right" with me.

I hate it. I hate how the word looks, I hate how it sounds; I just generally despise it and it makes me die a little inside every time I read it. I don't see how people can have so little time they have to use this stupid word rather than typing a few extra letters.

I don't dislike it. I would rather be called an aspie than an autist.

Why do you associate it negatively? Are you sure you're really an aspie?

I think Aspie sounds like the name of a fruitfly...and then, people begin to make derogatory remarks.

I like the ever-so-slightly-silly tone to "Aspie". It feels... friendly. :)

No you're not the only one. It's a foolish term. It's stupid and unnatractive. In fact it's downright ugly. Reminds me of snakes, wasps and asses.

PS - it's the epitome of stupidity to be defined by a label and that seems to be the lowest common denominator that the sheeple are following - thinking it's *normal* to do so - instead of each person defining for themselves who they are and what they are- but because this society is so dysfuncitonal and fragile - we go along with consensus because there's bloody little else to go on.

For the record.
