At work I made a comment about the guy, who might be responsible for being the Phantom Crapper, someone who as been making a mess of the girls toilets in a most unpleasant way. I probably said it beyond earshot of the guy, one of my workmate did not respond to me saying that. He over reacted. Obviously I took it with a pinch of salt. He probably thought that I was disrespecting the guy.

However in the same day he said something about metal teeth, the aspie girl who works on the other office. If she knew what was being said over here, she would not be pleased. I could not say that his over reaction was that based on me saying something disrespectful about someone, with a high chances of being caught.

There is not there a good possibility that she could find out what they say about her in this office, or that I could tell someone. I know if I wanted to find out what people are saying, put my mobile phone on audio record and put it at one of the desks for a hour or too.
Having a joke about her would be acceptable however, a woman from the same office who they respect never receives anything like that. It would seem that a persons level of receiving jokes is almost based on their level on the pecking order.

Any joke that I make towards someone is not driven by any bad-mind whatsoever. I believe if everyone was like this then no one would take an offence.

I agree with you. The phantom crapper really does not deserve respect because of his juvenille behaviour. It is his actions that you criticise.

The aspie girl has done nothing to deserve 'jokes'.

I have been to parties where the entertainment is putting others down. Since I have joined this forum I recognise it as bullying. You are supposed to laugh ha ha. But I don't think physical attack is funny; in the same way social attack is harmful.

Yeah, I agree. the Phantom Crapper should get no respect, I mean come on he's called "the phantom crapper" however, i don't think disrespect in the work place is ok in general. Phantom crapper should be fired.
