I stare out the side window of a car or helicopter(when i worked as a survey assistant) from time to time instead of chatting. I don't do it all the time. One time i was staring out the side window of the helicopter at the muskeg trees and the pilot and party chief noticed this as i was sitting in the back seat. The pilot made the helicopter tip to one side then brought it back to level fairly quickly while saying "bird". He was trying to avoid hitting a bird, there was no bird. The pilot and party chief were just trying to scare me, which they suceeded at.

I do this all the time. I dunno why, but something about it is fascinating about looking outside...

of course. But if I look at the driver, they tend to look back at me, and I'd rather have their eyes on the road..;)

I love staring out the windows of a moving vehicle. In fact, I like staring out all kinds of windows. It's been a compulsion throughout my whole life. I was always getting in trouble for it at school.

Being a passenger in a car or train is one of the most relaxing thing I find. And I absolutely hate talking to ANYONE when I'm a passenger.

Ohh ya all the time, tho now I mostly am the driver, whenever I was not I would sit and stair out the window rather then talk most of the trip cause I love being able to look at all the signs, license plates, buildings, environment and other vehicles.

Auto AutioVisual Topic

The scenery definitely moves me. During daylight hours, I used to stare at the hydro lines between the poles as a child and follow every dip in the lines. It was more interesting when there were multiple lines between the poles. I was terrified of my father's bad driving because he was under the influence of alcohol. Amazing there were no accidents. This staring out the window somehow relaxed me.

I used to imagine myself running on these lines. I have never told anyone else about this.

Great forum, and interesting posts.
