how do i find knowledgable help in cincinnati?

i've never been diagnosed (longterm distrust of medical practitioners) but, my god, do i fit the profile. finding a description of the problems and finding out that there are other people experiencing the same thing is like already dropping some of the burden. i live in cincinnati...how do i find someone knowledgable in treatment to at least find out if i have aspergers or am just totally screwed up for other reasons? is there anyone from cincinnati who can give advice? any general advice as to my first step? if i could finally actually define and legitimize this situation to myself it would go a great way toward helping me believe that i'm not just totally nuts. any feedback to assist will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to WP from another Cincinnatian! I'm not sure who you could go to for help, as I was diagnosed by a pediatrician. Just Google something along the lines of "autism specialist Cincinnati." If that doesn't find any good results add "asperger's" or "adult" (depending on your age, which you didn't specify) to the search criteria. Good luck and hopefully you'll be able to find at least a semi-competent psychologist to speak to.

I wonder if you could possibly go to Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. I know it'd be a drive for you, but I was diagnosed there three years ago at age 21. Back then they had some good AS doctors, hope they are still there.
