No, most of the time I talk too much. But there are some occasions in which I just don't feel like talking in that it takes too much energy and I have nothing to communicate. So I don't.

I haven't been particularly talkative at college yet. Maybe that's a good thing because it seems that the less I talk, the more people like me. :?

Because there is no reason to talk.

Talking is an assault upon the senses most of the time. Personally speaking, I cannot accomplish two things at once: speaking coherent thoughts while thinking ahead to the next thought(s) I want to say. The part of my brain that would be organizing my thoughts on a subject will shut down, being distracted by the noise of the words being spoken in the present. Writing is much more efficient for me. Normally I only speak in short sentences and phrases.

I enjoy talking... sometimes a bit too much.

I've been a pretty shy and reserved person ever since about second or third grade, when I became self-conscious about how I wasn't "normal". (This was before my diagnosis, BTW.) However, I have become a lot less reserved in recent years - I mean, I used to be afraid to even say "hi" to people in the hallway.

I don't hate talking, but I never speak unless I have something valuable to say. Following this rule actually tends to make other people prompt me to add to conversations when I don't say anything for a while. It gets annoying.

It depends on who I am with and what the subject matter is. Sometimes, I talk so much that people cannot get me to stop (like when I am really hyper or in a good mood) and othertimes, I go into withdrawal mode and do not talk at all. My family and close friends (mellryn-nin) sometimes have a difficult time conversing with me because I say too much, especially when the subject matter is of interest. But I hardly talk around people I don't know very well.

Online, it seems like I'm extremely chatty, but it is easier to communicate by writing (or in this case, typing) rather than speaking. :)

in general, talking makes me ache all over but sometimes i NEED to talk because i won't be able to stop thinking about something that has happened and i have discovered that if i tell someone about it (usually my mum) my brain will stop repeating the thought.

There are occasions when I stay silent simply because I dont feel like putting the energy into being personable. More often, however, it's a matter of not knowing what to say (ie: failing to be reciprocal in conversation), not being able to break into the conversation, not being able to start a conversation, or in the worst case being simply unable to speak (mutism caused by stress). Once I start, though, it can be pretty hard to make me stop. :-P

I talk a lot because I don't think people are understanding what I say so I keep saying it different ways until they tell me they understand. I truly love it when I find someone that does understand me to the point that I have to say very little. I like to use hand and head gestures to talk but people have to know what I am thinking to know what I am gesturing about.

Y :D

I don't talk too much because anything I say would be redundant. I do jump in sometimes to encourage someone, welcome someone, or offer help if I can. :D

I've always been quiet, hardly ever speaking when I'm around my peers. People joked that I only said three words throughout high school. I think my brain goes faster than my mouth and it just can't keep up so I end up stuttering or having everything come out all goofy. Plus I have social anxiety so there's the added fear of saying something that might get me humiliated in addition to having a proven history of putting my big foot in my mouth. I wish, sometimes, we could all speak in sign language since my hands work way better than my speech.

I rarely talk when I don't hae anything to say and other times I talk very little becuse of depression. Once in college, half of one class didn't think I could talk at all for half the semester.
I have an easier time typing than talking because I can organize my thoughts better this way even though it doesn't seem like English is the best language to convey my thought process.
