Anyone else on wrong planet have curvature of the spine? I've had it for a long time.

It seems slight but I've had back problems for a long time and migraines which I've wondered if it had to do with that considering a chiropractor I was working for examined me and said my C1 was messed up.

There are others in my family who have the same problem so it could be genetic, not sure.

I do, quite badly. It's getting worse as I get older, too.

Sure you're not causing it by staying hunched over a computer or laptop too long?

I put not sure as I do have slight curvature, but my entire back and neck are a mess and always have been. I'm at the osteopath every few weeks to get it sorted, he's like my hero, without him I'd be stiff as a plank of wood and unable to turn my head, haha.

As a kid I went to a chiropractor regularly because I had scoliosis. I'm assuming I still have it since it doesn't just go away- they just monitored it for a few years to see if it got bad enough to need a back brace (thankfully, no).

Last time I checked in high school for scoliosis, I didn't have it. I don't think I have it but I've been sitting hunched forward lately a lot.

yep. i have scoliosis. (24 degrees last time i saw a doctor which was a few years ago)
my left leg is longer than my right and the foot is also completely flat, and i walk on the side of that foot, and i move my hips in a slight figure 8 when i walk-- so people don't ever notice-- but when i am tired i just limp.

Like Kitsy I have a bad back and migraines. I've had migraines for years but I suspect that the bad back is because I'm getting old.

Yes. When I was 13 it was classified as the severe kind. Since then I've had a kid so I'm sure it's even worse. Have no insurance for therapy or such, not even pain meds, and I'm usually in pain. I think it runs in the family if I'm correct... on my dad's side.

As early as fourth grade, my mother had me doing back exercises to improve my posture. This is probably an unusual activity for a 4th grader. However, I was diagnosed negative for scoliosis by my school nurse when I was in elementary school. So I guess I'm not sure.

I have too little curvature in my neck. (And like others have said, have always had it, not just since using computers a lot.) The doctor said the scan they did showed I had a straight neck and I shouldn't. This fits with an odd posture I have had my entire life (where even when I'm lying down, my head juts forward, and this despite all my mom's attempts throughout my entire life to push it back). I also have loose joints so I have real trouble holding things in the place they're supposed to be, so a lot of the exercises intended to force a person not to move this way have never worked on me.

By the way, everyone has a natural curvature of the spine. I have a friend whose severe scoliosis was operated on in a way where they put a flat rod in her spine when they fused it. She now has a condition called flatback syndrome which is a severely painful condition resulting from having a spine that is straight. I assume you mean abnormal curvature, but just to point out that a straight spine would be awful.

My medical history includes a mention of "slight scoliosis".

Yes, mine curves in two places. I have a moderate atypical curve, and I'm in almost constant pain because of it. Mostly I'm used to it and don't notice. What sucks is getting temporarily "locked" in a position. I also have degenerative disc disease in my low spine, sciatic nerve problems and TMJ, which are all related to the misalignment. Despite that (I refused to let it stop me from doing anything I wanted to do) I've participated in sports, been a firefighter, made it through two pregnancies and skated competitively for over a decade. Sitting or standing still is where I begin having issues.
