Sleeping Behavior

Sometimes I wake up in the morning and find scratches on my chest, neck, or arms. I was told by a doctor that I am scratching myself in the middle of the night while asleep possibly becasue of stress. But I don't remember anything. And I don't feel stressed...
I am wondering if this behavior is a part of AS, and if this happens to anyone else...

I have woken up with scratches on my face which I have only discovered when shaving in the morning. I am not sure what it is related to precisely - probably just random itching and scratching, but in the sleep period.
For what it is worth, I don't think AS factors into it. Given that lots of people become aware of abraisions and scratches some time after these have occured and probably for the most inocuous of reasons, it seems to me that there is no reason to invoke AS as being part of it. Of course, there may be a tiny minority of individuals for whom the above is not true, but generally speaking, I would think there are other explanations for this widespread phenomenon of night-time scratches.
