So I was watching DR. Phil and it was about a family with an autistic child, and we're talking really autistic. She didn't respond to her name, and she had huge speech disabilities. Now this is the kind you always see in the media. The most extreme ray-man esq. cases. So when I tell people I'm an aspie, they look really confused! So I have to go on a long song and dance about how rare that type is, and that I'm high(er) functioning. Some people even look scared of me!

I know how ya feel man. That happens all the time to me. Even though I'm just on the border of being able to "fit in" enough, it's still real hard when I see people's reactions when I have to tell them about AS. Most adults (I'm 15 BTW) are fine with it and respect me for being able to talk about it, but all the students at school are like "...O_o wtf?"

Anyway, welcome to Wrongplanet! :ninja: :jester: :nerdy: :skull: :alien: :star: :bom: :pig: :afro: :sunny: :albino: :cat: :flower: :farao: :jocolor: :joker: :queen: :king: :rendeer: :santa: :geek: :smurfin: :smurf: :brilsmurf: :bigsmurf:

Yes we have way too many smilies here for our own good XD

That's pretty common. That's why "Wrong Planet" fits so well.

Well, now that you mention it, in 27 hours it's my birthday. Not that I am expecting anyone to wish me a happy birthday or any presents, but a nice assortment of WP welcoming smilies would be a refreshing change to my lonely birthdays...

Yep, me too. I got the same thing when I told people I was gay. "No you're not," they'd say. "Uh... yes I am." How the he!! do THEY know? It sucks when you have to "convince" someone, when it's hard enough, sometimes, to even say it.

I think you mean Rain Man. There's a demented video game bunny called Rayman, but I don't he's supposed to be autistic.

Yep, I have a compulsion to correct people. Sorry.

It's alright. I do that when people people get facts wrong. Like bears, people say they hibernate, but they don't.
