Is anyone else really annoyed by the look on his face?

I mean the ad that occasionally pops up on the left column. Black and white, for some movie called Billy the Kid, presumably about Billy the Kid, but I don't know.

Gah! It's always there. Staring at me. Staring into my soul. Demanding I spill out my deepest darkest secrets.

I really like it, actually. Not sure I can explain it. It's awkward and interesting.

Yes, I get that reaction too. Quit looking at me!

Dont worry, you do not have to spill out your secrets, they have already been sucked from your mind.

I would like to talk Geology. The subject rocks!

I noticed it soon after I signed up for this site and it did kinda weird me out since the very beginning. I thought I would have been sensitized to the picture by now but I'm not.

It's like it's almost emotionally distressing or something. I'm exaggerating here but I think I'm on the right nerve.

I get what you mean by distressing. I feel like it's got a kind of poetic beauty to it though.

But you guys are giving me ideas and going to make me creeped out. :P

It freaks me out. It's like he thinking about ways to rape me or something. I'm thinking about putting a piece of paper or something over that side of my screen.

I ended up downloading the Adblock Firefox extension and and blocking that image. It's disturbing.

That ad also gives me the creeps.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/10

Click install, follow the directions, restart firefox, right click offensive ads and you can click to adblock it. You can do a single image(to just remove a particularly annoying banner) or remove an iframe(to remove all banners in that spot on that page)

I'm guessing these ads help pay for the upkeep of this site?

Do they know when their ads get blocked by something like Adblock on Firefox?

Yes, ads pay for upkeep, and as a web developer I respect the costs of maintaining a site, which is why I chose to only block that single image.

No, they don't know when you block an image, and because of that, some sites are banning all Firefox users, because of the bandwidth wasted on users who just block ads. I don't agree with that policy, but I also don't agree with blocking non-disruptive ads(like all of WP's banners that aren't that Billy the Kid one)

I downloaded Adblock.

I'm not sure how to go about blocking the ads or even what takes place when I do.
I added the address I get when I move my mouse over the Billy The Kid ad but it is still there and the words still pop up.

I'll go back to mozilla and see if there's anymore information.

I also have my little sprocketwheel thing spinning all the time on wrongplanet as if these ads are constantly loading.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I have been getting more of those addons from mozilla... their fun!... oh... and useful!
Thanks for this one.

First off, make sure you've restarted firefox after downloading and installing. Restart ALL windows of firefox, not just the current one. Second, right click and hit Adblock Image.

What this does is prevents that particular image's address from being loaded in firefox. It will just leave a blank space equal in size to the offending image, so as to preserve the page layout.

I tried to ignore that picture at first, but now I want to see that documentary. It follows a highschool kid who has AS.
