Sorry if this is a bit wordy, but here goes.

I've been out of school because of DSPS, insomnia or some similar sleep problem. So I haven't been doing any school work or taking my ADD medicine until recently. I just took my first ADD pill in about a month, and on top of that the dosage has been upped from 20 to 30 mg. I started getting really anxious about everything shortly after taking it. I started worrying about all my missing schoolwork and all the projects I'm behind on and things like that. I also feel more awake and active, not to mention happier then I have been during my time off of school. Now I'm starting to worry about these mixed emotions, too.

So my main problem (or at least I think it's my main problem) is that my ADD pill is really messing with me. What I want to know is if I should stop taking Adderall or if it has any long term side effects.

Sorry if I'm rambling, I'm kind of jittery today. :compress: 8O :bounce:

You should consult your doctor about medication changes.

His response is that the side effects should wear off in a few weeks. That's been his same response for the last two years.

Adderall turned me into a monster, any narcotic drove me to the edge. When my parents consulted the doctor, they said the same thing, give it time itll wear off, or shes just getting use to it, meanwhile the police were at my house eveyr other day for something or another haha. I would suggest to get off the medication, that stuff is known to do bad things, especially to ppl with ASD.

I love my adderall. Taking it makes me feel like a human being who is actually awake sometimes and it generally ups my average mood as well.

It does however raise my heartrate a little, but I can put up with that, because my anxiety does the same thing.

Oddballben, 30mg is a large dose if you have no real tolerance built-up on the drug. Maybe you might want to try a smaller dose. If that doesn't work, I would look elsewhere. Good luck.
