In recent months I've gotten into the habit of memorizing the dictionary definitions of certain words.

Anyone else has this habit?

Yeah, I used to do that. People thought it was for me to read the dictionary.

Vocabulary is one of my Obsessions.
Yet, I have to hear a word before I use it. If it is a refined version of a word more commonly used by me I'll most likely replace the new word with the common word.
Grammar and enunciation are also horrible peeves for me. If someone uses a slang term...or doesn't use a word correctly I feel the need to correct them. My family and friends get agitated.
I can't help it.

I read the dictionary all time! If I read a new term in a book, I have to go look it up right away. I also tend to picky about grammar, because my dad has really bad speech grammar [as do I when I talk], seeing as how he is not English first language, but I seem to be overcompensating for his worse grammar.

I enjoy words and etymology very much. This has earned me the epithet "pedantic."

I don't need to spend my time memorizing all the words, that's what the dictionary is there for.
