I talked to a psychologist many years ago and right off the bat one of the first questions she asked me is if I drink or smoke. I told her the truth, of course. I told her that I don't drink or smoke. Her reaction was silence and then an inquisitive look as if trying to read my body language. From my point of view, it looked like she doubted me when I told her I don't drink or smoke. Needless to say, I felt extremely insulted, more so considering the fact that the person who distrusted me was presumably a professional.
Some people lie. She didn't know you so she had every reason to think you might be lying. You really shouldn't feel insulted or let stuff like this bother you.
I used to feel insulted when people accused me of lying because I (almost) always told the truth but then later realized they had no way of knowing since they didn't know me very well.
