When I was in grade school, I made a construction paper collage of a typical diner blue plate special of salisbury steak, mashed potatoes and peas. When I found out there were Japanese doing fake food, I felt like some one out there understood. Really detailed fake food sounds fun but I wouldn't mind doing very detailed fake jewelry. My only costume jewelry purchase were rhinestones embedded onto yellow painted metal earrings I purchased in a HK department store. I wore them in NYC and I got stared at a lot by women, I hope none of them thought they were real and just thought they were fake because I would never wear diamond earrings like that. Anyway, I don't think that blood diamonds are going to deter people from overspending on diamonds but I'd like to see someone really knock em out of the park design wise for costume jewelry.

"Someone" can be you making that jewelry. You can take jewelry making classes. You just google that info for your area and see where you can take a class. I am a designer and artist, and I always thought taking classes in making silver jewelry would be a start in the right direction for me personally. Haven't done it yet though, although I used to make beaded jewelry for my friends. I have bought jars and boxes of mostly messed up old jewelry at Goodwill type stores to use in collages. You can make art with stuff like this.

You can buy all of the supplies you need to sculpt your own fake food at craft stores, and you could paint it yourself, just to have some fun---

Wanna try something fun? Pour plaster of paris in a big container, like a gallon milk jug, mix it up according to the directions, let it harden, remove the milk jug ( you can cut it away) and then use any tools to scratch away, and remove whatever doesn't belong there....oh yeah, make a sketch of it so you'll know what part of the plaster doesn't belong....I used a power drill, a large spoon, a screwdriver, and steel wool to create my sculpture which was an abstract mother and child----this is a cheap and easy way to make a sculpture. I'm not positive but I think you can have your finished product bronzed if you wanted to spend the money on it...dunno for sure....haven't worked in metal yet. I just know the plaster of paris thing is a cheap way to make a sculpture, and it lends itself to abstract creations.

Gosh, where do I start?

1. Working on Mythbusters. Apart from the fact that Kari Byron is cute those guys get to do all the fun stuff.

2. Demolition expert. Spend your working day blowing stuff up.

3. Working with Mike Holmes. If you don't know the guy Google for 'holmes on homes'. He also gets to demolish stuff but he does some good afterwards.

4. Radio operator on an ocean liner. I've been a radio ham for thirty years so this could be fun AND I get to see the world.

My pussy-whipped (courtesy of me), diamond-dealing, pretty-thing-designing boyfriend wouldn't let a blood diamond or any conflict stone within miles of his store. He's got three armed guards who have a nose for the things. I've seen them pop the heads off of those filthy, blood-stone-adorned vermin from a quarter-mile. Grrr!! !! He's very careful about sticking with reputable dealers.

Now, as for what I would consider a fun occupation, hmm, toughie. I'd go for something high in stress that keeps me up long hours and leaves me at least slightly mentally unstable. I crave action. I crave pain, baby. I crave life in the trenches!! ! Gotta do it while I'm young, my blood. Gotta do it while I'm young. I might get myself work as a resident at some mental hospital or something. That would make me the happiest person ever! I'd survive by smoking three packs of cigarettes per day and drinking down enough coffee to power the state of Kentucky for a week!! Besides, it would be a good excuse for my behavioral eccentricities.

That, actually blows anything I was going to say out of the water. Good call!

I have such a crush on Kari, but my wife hates her, probably because I have such a crush on Kari...

My wife knows everything, damnit!

I can't imagine not writing computer software. It is currently my job.

I also wish I had more time to write fiction novels.

I like my own occupation, being a college sociology professor. However, I think I could also have been happy in other fields, such as occupational therapy. I respect their philosophy.

Goodness, no!
That's actually a very boring career.
Video games, like any other artistic form, can only be fully appreciated and enjoyed when it is complete.
As a video game tester, you would have to deal with excessive glitches, which you would have to fix yourself, and so many below-par quality aspects.

Anything that involves lots of rote memory, routine, and/or numbers while preferably minimizing contact with others(some of these would fail to involve just one of the areas specified but still be acceptable).
