Do people with AS get attached to material goods? I do, and if I have none, I get depressed. If I got an AC figure, I'll never be depressed again.

Who else is like this?

As a child I was attatched to objects like keys, locks, blankets, stuff animals.

Now days I really form no real attatchment in that way towards anything or anyone ever.

To some, but they're not irreplaceable.

Not unless that object has a very sentimental attachment to it. I guess that'd be considered normal but I literally would run into my house to retrieve it if the house was on fire.

I have an unhealthy attachment to my car and my computer. Take either of those things away from me and you will incite something just short of a one person riot.

Prior to getting married and having children, I was usually more attached to material things than people.

My Father does get attached to things. Yes he has AS. And so do i but not as deep.
For him it has rewarded well in the money sense. Not so good when as kids we would break a thing he liked. :( He helps design chip testers that make sure the IC's in alot of things work :D that's the good side of getting attached to things.

No, I am interested in ideas and information. material things decay and disintegrate, but ideas exist as long as there are minds to pass them on.

I know there are material things that can at least make me feel better, doesnt always mean it makes me totally happy. Sometimes it does though, no matter what it is that may be troubling me.

I do, but not terribly. For example, I have strong attachments to my stereo and camera gear, and would be loath to part with them. That doesn't mean I wouldn't, though: if a piece was irreparably damaged, I would have no qualms about selling and replacing it (and quickly.)

Yeah, we may be very attached to materials objects, so I tried not to be so much, and develop my other spiritual non-materail side :)

I don't think I do. I would feel bad if my guitar breaks because then I wouldn't be able to play, but it is replaceable.

I get fixated on collecting things I like. Whether it be useful things like tools, or just collectable things like toys or cards, or even books and media. The fun part is organizing and reorganizing them, and listing them off in my head if I'm not there to see them. The listing and organizing gets very repetive, but it's somehow comforting to do. I have special boxes, and backpacks for almost everything. My mom told me when I was a toddler, I used to have an old camera case that my grandpa gave me which I used to fill with all my favorite toys. I would take them out and put them back in, and I would carry it around everywhere, very much like I do with my backpack now. I put "useful" things in it instead of toys, but the pattern is the same.

I get very disturbed if I lose something I really like, and sometimes obsessively look for it, or at least something to replace it with. But if there was a fire or something, the first things I would save would be my family and pets. I would be much more depressed if I lost a family member or even a pet over all my favorite items.
