When I was a teen my only stims were twisting my body from side to side (as if I was looking to my left and right) while standing and using the front of my foot to bounce my leg up and down while sitting (I need to be sitting in such a way that the balls of my feet are off the ground). I did rock back and forth and hand-flap occasionally but it was very uncommon. Now lately (about the past year) I have been rocking and hand-flapping a lot more, especially when I'm overstimulated after a bad day at work (like yesterday, because my job-coach keeps thinking my suggestions and explanations are an affront to her authority).

Stimmy-lating topic

Dear Odin:

I believe we have met before. I am glad you are working. It can be stressful, however, and for this reason you may want to speak to your job coach and/or therapist regarding this increase in stimming, since it is a stress reliever.

Good luck with your new job and have a Happy St. Valentine's Day ( I always think of this day as a prelude to the onset of Spring and St. Patrick's Day!). :D

Yours truly,

Sartresue
