Proprioceptive input is pretty important to most auties and certain aspies...

So i thought of an idea, why not utilize a cyclic passive motion machine?

anyone think this idea might work? anyone willing to experiment with their hospital or maybe grab one on ebay?

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

I think it sounds like a good idea.
I'm looking up prices on eBay, haven't found any so far, so I'm experimenting with different search terms.
Something like Temple Grandin's hug machine would be good too, I think.

*edit* I've found some, but they are just for knees and ankles. And they cost more than I can afford. :(*

The hug machine is severely flawed in the fact it only offers lateral pressure... the problem with me is i like real hugs because you also get some frontal pressure from their body and can feel their warmth...

maybe something along the lines of a total body mummy wrappy blood pressure cuff type thingy thats also slightly heated hahhaaha.

Yeah, that's true. I like pressure on my front and back; I lie on my pillows in bed and wrap my arms around myself to get it.

have you had problems with thermal control? i am always freezing... i feel ike i should buy a wetsuit and wear it all the time hahaha...

for me the mummy wrappy blood pressure cuff type thingy would work best...

im not too much one to like motion... especially when im laying down... whenever im in the hospital i make sure to have them put the back of the stretcher up a bit so i dont get wonky.

I'm always either too hot or too cold.
I like to be comfortably warm.

its pretty dang hard for me to get too hot... if i am in an enclosed space like under the blanket yeah that gets too hot quite easily... but when it comes to clothing i never get too hot...

as to weather its only too hot when it hits 105 or higher for me...

That's a little too hot for me. My ideal temperature is around 25 degrees Celsius (77 Farenheit.).

I also like cold weather, as long as I can wear warm clothing.

105 is too hot 98.6 is my high end ideal

my prime is around 75-80...

about taking showers... i take VERY hot showers... mom says "how do you do this.. my hands hurt from the heat" and its around 110-115 degrees... and yet i dont blister or burn...
