Do people ever say this to you? I get this all the time, and it really annoys me. Also, the opposite when I go out in cold weather with just a light jacket: "Aren't you cold?" I think it's a sign that I am hyposensitive to temperature. Is this an Aspie thing?

Anyway, if I hear somebody tell me what to wear one more time... :x haha. Anybody else hear this?

HAHAHAHAHA.

Oh God, that's my catchphrase.

I hear it on average 15 times a day (I counted for a week in November because I heard it so much).

So glad it's not just me!! I'm the inverse of normal, temperature wise.

I live in my coat. Often I'll wear a singlet, nice top, blazer, jacket, coat, scarf, gloves, thick socks etc INSIDE with the heater on next to me - everyone thinks I'm mad. But then the moment I go outside I get way too hot from walking, so I take it all off and suddenly I have a hot figure and curves and they see all my nice clothes underneath - and they themselves pile on their own layers and shiver!!

I get "Aren't you cold?"

All the time.

I've tried to make some concessions though. I've finally been convinced by others that bare skin in certain climates can give me frostbite whether I feel it or not. But for a lot of my life I would do things like... going barefoot wearing a t-shirt and a flimsy skirt in the winter in New England (or Yosemite) in the snow.

The only time I've tried to avoid cold because of a physiological thing was when I had cold urticaria, which gives you itchy welts when you get cold, and I nearly got myself killed in a very mild California rainstorm that way and started taking cold seriously. But other than that I just don't register it the same way other people do.

On the other hand, I get very hot very easily, always have. Even 80 degrees Fahrenheit is torture for me. It's one reason I left California, I could get heat exhaustion year round there. (I still get it where I live now but at least it's only in summer and sometimes surrounding seasons a bit. I never realized until I moved here that that's another reason I never got up much in California.)

Of course, where I live now, at the moment "really warm" is a term that even other people are using for temperatures that are still below freezing or only just above it. :)

I tend to keep my jacket on when going out to eat or to the movies or something like that without even thinking about it :)

Then someone's like "why do you still have your jacket on?" and I'm thinking "yeah I'm hot why do I?"

I tend to wear long sleeves in the summer, to keep the sun off, (because I blister) to be prepared when entering buildings or vehicles with aggressive A/C, and to prevent brushing into another person's bare, sweaty skin :eew: And sometimes, I just need the security of fabric against my skin.

Me too. I always wear a long sleeved shirt and jeans unless I'm exersizing. I always wear closed shoes. Since I live in the subtropics this is somewhat unusual.

The weather has no bearing on what I wear. I can go barefoot in a T-shirt during winter and wear sweaters in summer. Doesn't really matter to me.

My grandmother always gets upset when I show up at her house with a light jacket or no jacket at all.

I just went out with my friend today and he was freaking out about how cold it was. He kept asking why I wasn't cold. Then he said I must have been wearing a heavier jacket that he was. I told him that I was pretty sure mine was just as light as his, and, besides that, mine was unzipped. So either he's really bad in the cold or I'm really good.

Hahaha yes, same here. I love hoodies. I wear them in the summer because they keep stores and restaurants SO cold, and I'm not willing to pile on massive bulky layers in the winter so I also wear a hoodie when it is cold. In the summer I get, "Aren't you sweating under that?" and in the winter I get, "You're gonna freeze in that!" Way I see it, I'm gonna freeze either way, and I'm a lot more comfortable without the bulk that does little to shield me from the elements anyhow.

Yes, I get that all the time. Or people just stare. And then I notice that they're all wearing T-shirts and I'm wearing a big wooly sweater. It's a good thing I finally managed to move this far south.

OMG.

My poor son gets this ALL the time, especially at school. "Isn't he hot in that sweater?" teachers/parents will ask. "Dunno," I usually reply. "Ask him." When they do, he insists he feels fine.

He tends to sweat VERY easily, but likes the feeling of being clothed. As do I. We're basically winter people and unfortunately dress to reflect that most of the year.

I live in my jeans, which hacks my friends off no small amount in the summer! LOL

Yeah, I always get "Aren't you cold?" because I wear a short-sleeved T-shirt throughout the seasons. :P

I wear jackets and any kind of long-sleeved wear year-round. I rarely wear short sleeves.

When I was fourteen, I would sometimes wear five layers even as summer approached.
