Simple enough question: Does anyone here put off going to the bathroom or something else just as important because you are too interested in what you're doing?

What is your record time?

From my memory, my longest time has been 4 hours while sitting at the computer putting off having to pee.

Anyone? Anyone?

Yep, I do that too. Record time - several hours. Average time would probably be an hour or two. Lol, depends on how bad I have to go of course.

In the last hour and a half of that four-hour stint, I found I had to try and not move as much so I wouldn't feel the pressure from my bladder.

I have more than once worked an entire shift- 8.5 hours- without going to the bathroom once, and only realized that my bladder was full as I was leaving the store. I'm sure this isn't good for me (especially since I'm pregnant) but I just forget or don't feel it. Part of it may be that I don't drink as much water as I should (I forget).

During my school years I had a LOT of accidents and got teased mercilessly for it. The bathroom was down four flights of stairs and by the time I realized I had to go, was able to get the teacher's attention (they tended to ignore my raised hand and I was shy about asking in front of the whole class anyway) and left, there frequently wasn't time to get there. Very often I didn't get the teacher to call on me before it was too late. School was hell for me because of this.

Happens quite frequently to me. Usually when I'm reading a book or when I'm engrossed in some math problem. I'll tell myself "after this chapter", but when the chapter does end I would have forgotten that I was supposed to stop, and when I next remember I'm in the middle of the next chapter. I also get sore throats from forgetting to drink water.

Oh my Gosh!! ! I do this all the time, and not just with having to use the bathroom, but eating too!! Its like I know I have too, but other things seem to be more important in the moment. I guess this must be an aspie thing. I've also had moments where im engrossed in a video game or on the computer, and I end up waiting until I cannot hold it anymore, and then run for the bathroom...! !! ! LOL

I thought I was the only one, we really are odd! I can go a good twelve hours working on something without needing to... use the facilities.

Sprinting to the bathroom does get you some odd looks, even from family.

I am dieting and drink a lot of liquids so I basically live in the bathroom. There's nothing physically wrong with me that I do that save for my constant consumption of caffienated beverages. I am like a beautiful mountain spring that never runs dry.

Wow...that's lovely. :D

Seriously though, I'm pretty much the same way. But I do choose to hold it in under certain circumstances - like if I'm at the movie theater, or am busy with something, or once in a while if I get REALLY involved in a conversation. Then there are times when the circumstances force me to hold it in for much longer periods of time than I care to. But for the most part, if I have to go, I go.

I do that quite often when I'm drawing. I usually work on one drawing for a few hours, and I don't get up until it's finished.

Sometimes. It depends on how bad I have to go, or how absorbed I am in my activities. Sometimes I don't notice that I have to go until I really, really have to go!

I do that, too. Only more often it's that I don't realise that I have to go until I'm about ready to explode lol!

It's strange. My bathroom isn't even far. It's practically right next door to my bedroom where I spend most of my time being engrossed in something.
