My son and my daughter have problems falling asleep.

I have tried a few things for my son, because he's at home, including massage, a lavender/hops sleep pillow (aromatherapy?), a deep muscle relaxation cd, just talking.

Has anyone had positive results from either aromatherapy or from a weighted blanket?

I am thinking about trying some aromatherapy in the house at homework time and before bed. I mean real essential oils.

I've read about weighted blankets on line, and I can easily sew some up so both kids try them. But I have not heard from real people using them.

Any input?

weighted blankets work wonders for my son in school. It provides deep pressure and keeps him on task. (not for very long though!) ANyway, he is in the first grade. Anything is worth trying.

One more thing...for a good night sleep, my son prefers a deep pressure massage to the scalp before bedtime. He may even fall asleep while I'm doing it.

The weighted blankets would be too hot for him at bed time, but they do work at school for other reasons, as I mentioned. Good luck!

All I need to sleep is a good loud fan and some Tylenol Simply Sleep. It's just a low dose of benedryl so you can use it continuously without side effects.

I thought of something else...we are just so used to it, it's part of the routine...and I forgot to mention:

music! He also falls asleep every night to music.
