I just want to be sure of this.

If its night time and the street lights are on,i can see little halos and streaks emitting from them.

Can anyone else see this?is it an aspie thing?

Also,i can hear soft buzzing from from my computer.does anyone else hear when they are near a computer?

Or,if i focus on a my pillow enough in bed i can tell if there's dust mites or an insect underneath it.

None of this really bothers me, i jsut want to know if you can hear it and if its an aspie thing.

The last thing i feel is my brain working.

If i see something bright and colourful the back of my head gets this tingly sensation on it.

If i hear something then sensations are in the middle of my head.

And if i touch something i can feel senstaion traveling up through whatever body part, through the rest of me and too my brain.

can everyone feel this or just certain aspies?
or is it just me?

I can't feel my own brain working, but I can see streaks of light emitting from objects in certain situations. I only see the streaks of light when the light is interrupted by something, be it a window, a screen, or sometimes even my own eyelashes. I think it's pretty normal. Also, computers do buzz.

I see those two, I had always considered it normal, but in the past 6 months I have been finding out a lot of what I thought was normal isn't.

Yeah I hear that too.

Not sure what you mean here, could you go further in depth.

I've never heard of this but I positively want it. It is just plain cool sounding. You may want to talk to a nueroscientist about this, you could help further the study of the brain if you are actively aware of you brain functioning.

Well, I'm a little skeptical here, at least as far as hearing dust mites, those things are microscopic, however an insect I could believe.

Are your eyes very light sensitive or is your vision lower than 20/20? I see streaks of light coming off of street lights etc when i don't have my contacts in or when my eyes are extra light sensitive.

I see halos around lights all the time. As for streaks... I think I do; do you mean like rays coming off them (like in a kid's picture of the sun)? I see that.
And yes, I can hear the computer buzz all of the time. It also makes a much fainter high-pitched airy whistling sound underneath the buzz.
But I don't think I can hear anything under my pillow. Maybe it's because there has never been an insect there. I certainly can't hear dust mites.

Can you hear batteries charging? I do.

In order to sleep, I unplug all cables of the computer. Else the monitor will make noise. I also hear the buzzing of electricity in simple lamps. That are sensory things which are frequent in ASDs.

What you described about the travelling sensation is quite extreme. You don't have seizures do you? If not, it's still an ASD thing I guess. You're fine-tuned, very fine-tuned. I read about someone hearing his blood and body breathe at night. Now that's just as wicked.

Aren't halos normal?

So far as I know, I am not an Aspie, and I can see the halos and streaks, glasses on and off, and so does my husband, who is DEFINITELY not an Aspie.

I also hear noises and smell smells that no one else seems to. And when they don't, I wonder if I'm cracked or if they are.

When I was a kid, I used to think I heard bugs in my pillow, but as I got older I realized what I was hearing was my hair settling into my pillow.

I do not feel my brain working like you described it, but occasionally, I will have a buzzing pressure in the back of my head with loud sounds and bright lights and colors.

never tried listening to batteries. We either get the kind that don't re-charge or the ones you put in the freezer.
And personally i don't think it would look to great if someone caught me with my head in the freezer.>-<

I've never had seizures...or at least i don't think i have.

I can hear the sounds of electricity. Power lines hum, lamps buzz, electrical devices squeal. I thought these were normal, but maybe I'm more sensitive than most people. The only one that I know is normal is the 15,734Hz whine of a television set, although most people over 20 can't hear it because of hearing degradation.

edit: If you have a cell phone with a charger, plug it in to the wall and listen if you can hear the variable high-pitched noises. Mine is a Motorola phone and charger. It sounds really cool.

I don't think I am either, if that is possible.

Or is is pretty black and white? Either you are NT or on the Spectrum?

You have a point. I can't remember anyone talking about this before!

Sensory issues (or sensory integration disorder) can happen in non-autistics too. It's neurological and can be a disorder on it's own or appear alongside on the spectrum, in AD(H)D, Tourette's, learning disorders and many more.

I have bad eyes, so I see all sorts of blurring around lights.

Always had very near-sighted eyes.

As for nightsounds, I cannot sleep in a quite room. I can't even sit in a quiet room for more that 30-60 minutes. At night, I have the TV, or some sort of music, playing all night.

Heaven only knows what I'd hear in the middle of the night otherwise! ;-)

...i can pretty much hear most of what you are describing, except for squealing.which makes me want to hear the cool motorola noise... :bounce:

same with me,only the radio stations are funky here.the Dj's aren't that good so there are these huge silent gaps between songs. :(
