Okay, I said I'd post some of these once I got a fair number of respondents and here it is. These are only distributions, not comparative tests since I don't currently have a control group. I will be doing a T-test and ANOVA within this group (probably next week) on the factors of age and sex as predictors of the TASEA score. However, right now, here is the distribution of scores for both the TASEA (my questionnaire) and the AQ, and Age and Sex for the 47 autistics who have taken part so far.

For comparison purposes, I've doubled all the AQ scores, so that rather than being on a scale of 0-50, in the graph above they're now on a scale of 0-100 like the TASEA is. Below, however, I've converted the numbers back to the original AQ scores.

AQ:
N = 43
mean(average) = 38.186 ± 5.006
median = 38
range = 25-48

TASEA:
N = 46
mean = 64.4565 ± 11.3151
median = 66
range = 33-92

86.8% fell between the ranges of 50-80
93.4% fell between the ranges of 45-90

Age:
N = 44
mean = 30.8864 ± 11.4612
median = 25
range = 16-56

Sex:
N = 46
Male = 34.8%
Female = 65.2%

Translation:
What that all means is that about 93% fell between the score ranges of 45-90 on the TASEA, with the greatest majority falling in the 50-80% range. The average score is a little over 64. The average score in the AQ is a little over 38.

So, that's what I have so far. As I said in the other thread, ideally I would like to have a minimum of 30 of each sex for the autistic group. I still welcome more women to fill out the questionnaire (the more the merrier), but I definitely don't have my minimum quota of men yet. If you're interested, PM me or email me ([email protected]) and I'll get the questionnaire to you in the form of your electronic choosing.

Here's my earlier post about the questionnaire, for anyone not already familiar:

And an important note:

Quote:
This is not part of an official study currently, though that is my intention in the future. So for your own safety, you should know that this is being overseen by no one else but myself (i.e., no IRB or ethics committee or university supervisor, etc.). However, this is an anonymous collection of data and the data will not be used except to help me work out the kinks of the questionnaire design to get it ready for its first testable version. The data I collect currently will never be published. (Though that's not to decry your importance; as participants, you're the MOST important, the first generation.)

So by participating, you are agreeing that you are aware of the context surrounding this pilot research and accept that.

Sorry I never got bacK to you about the test but it does seem that you need more guys...have you tried Tribe.net?There are several groups on there that I think would take the test.

No I haven't; I've mostly used WP and my own forum. Thanks for the suggestion. :)
