I don't lack feelings, I just don't know how to express them 'correctly'

Sounds like someone is trying to write themselves into the Psychiatric book (whatever they call that thing with 'disorders' in it..;) like the guy who first codified the 'burned pizza mouth' syndrome...;)

that's what alexithymia is.

Quote:
In brief, alexithymia is the inability to talk about feelings due to a lack of emotional awareness. Alexithymics are typically unable to identify, understand or describe their own emotions, and the construct of alexithymia refers to some of the chief manifestations of this deficit in emotional functioning.

The Autism speech therapist am used to see said it's part of own Autism instead of being something completely seperate, not sure if same goes for the other ASDs though.

maybe seperate term could have been designed for people who have the problem but do not have an ASD,so it looks seperate because of that? dont know, just a thought on it.

That's kind of what I was thinking, but I wasn't sure.
