For anyone struggling with bright white light

Solution: install a potentiometer style light switch that when turned would gradually brighten up the light just until suitable brightness is achieved.

I replaced all my switches with dimmers so I can set the brightness before turning them on.

Once I move out I hope to get such a lighting system.
