At school I am on a meal plan. 2 meals a day plus two bonus meals should I choose to bring a guest.
Anyways, everthing related to my meal plan is done through EFT type transaction. Essentially, my ID cards doubles as a credit card. It has on the back magnetic strips that serve various functions.
When I go to the food commons, I have to get my card swiped by an attendent. When this attendent does so, I always make it a point to say thanks to person.
Anyway, one of the attendents has recently begun to refer to me by first name. I'll approach and she'll say something like "how are you doing today scott?" while swiping my card. I'll say a few words, thank her, then grab a tray and fill it up.
That didn't bother me too much, our names are on our ID cards so I figured she might do this to other people too.
However, friday afternoon at 2pm as I was leaving and they were closing, I walked past her as she was cleaning off tables.
"Have a good weekend Scott" she said to me
This made me feel uncomfortable, this is out of the ordinary. I don't think she's ever said that to anyone, at least not that I've seen.
I don't know what to think? Am I being too nice with out realizing it, or is there a certain amount of "rudeness" I should be displaying?
