I just happened to read about Dale Carnegie courses for young adults. Has anyone taken these courses?

I have. They're a good course, and have, I think, helped me develop numerous skills which are useful in socializing.

I read the book years ago, it seems to work with some people, I still have terrible time trying to talk in front of people, I have never heard of anything bad about the courses, wish I would have taken a class, I might have been a little more successful in public speaking

I just ask because my Dad (who I'm guessing is Aspie) was told to take the Dale Carnegie course for businessmen years ago, and he always maintains that it was the single most helpful thing he can point to that helped him in business, and socializing in general. In looking up whether Dale Carnegie courses still exist, my husband found out that they have courses for youth as well. Thought it was a cool idea.

I read the book in my twenties and it helped me enormously with my social skills. It's also fun and light to read. Do apply the principles right away, though. Just reading is a waste of time. Basically, the recipies are very simple to follow.
