Eg: I've noticed I'm good at taking photos, due to my strong focusing (AS induced).

- Researching things important to me in depth and becoming very knowledgeable about them (and therefore obtaining power over them)

- Planning, scheduling, coordinating, programming effectively, and thus saving on resources, especially money and time.

My mind goes where few NT minds go. I can see and understand things that are beyond words. No I'm not nuts. I use two aspie skills:

1. Deep analysis - looking at things really deeply and fully.

2. Look for patterns in the details and see if there are generalisations or underling principles.

Analysis and synthesis - powerful stuff when combined.

It seems such a pity to waste an aspie mind on fantasy when reality is much more interesting - and much stranger!! !

Taking tests at school. I can memorize the textbook, and I only need a little bit of time to study. After that, I always remember the information.

Good when watching Jeopardy, too. 8)

Organizing and scheduling my ADHD friend.
Following procedures in the lab precisely - no improvisation here.
Pattern recognition - anything from changing lab procedures to solving Sudoku.
Super[rote]memory - people's birthdays, where and when appointments are, etc.
Fine detail observation and recall.

Thinking outside the box, passion for research, not following the herd and a fondness for numbers and charts, are important qualities for picking stock market winners.

Like most, I use my abilities to help me revise for tests. I love waiting till two hours before a test then committing the entire syllabus to memory. I might get myself in trouble if I try that too often though.

I also use it to benefit over neurotypicals. they don't remember small details about people and things that I do. Sometimes they tell me small things about themselves and forget they told me, or about someone else. I often know alot about people that they don't realise I know.

Plus, i'm studying for a Forensic Science degree, the benefits are obvious!

I use my ability to concentrate on things for a long time by...concentrating on things for a long time. Usually dull college work.

My ability to see patterns allows me to thrash everybody at Scramble on Facebook, not that this will ultimately make a huge difference to my life. :(

My dry sense of humour makes people laugh. And cry.

I use my abilities to help me to absorb huge amounts of info in small periods of time, find the patterns in the information, and present to others in soundbytes.

I also am able to concentrate on hobbies for extensive amounts of time, which usually allows me to complete projects.

I am able to very effectively catagorise information and to sort it into different bits depending on the people who need the info regurgitated.

I am able to find solutions to problems that seem pretty obvious to me, but are usually out of the box for others. I am also able to see the funny side of most things because I do think outside of the box. This is good in helping others who are feeling distressed to get through situations that are difficult.

I am able to instantly see sensory things that will potentially bother my students (I work with ASD kids). I am also able to come up with good analogies of how those students think so that parents can better understand what their needs are.
