Let me clarify that I did NOT go to the shrink because I couldn't go on the trip. My mother told me that if my grandparents were willing to let me go I could. I got the money JUST before the deadline but my mother changed her mind stating that I didn't deserve to go AND that I wasn't stable enough. Oh well. I was very upset about it yesterday...I still am but not nearly as much so. ANYway, I went to the head shrinker and was asked LOADS of questions. This eventually lead to "Do you have any ritualistic behaviors? Do you have to have things a certain way? Do clothes have to FEEL a certain way for you to wear them?"ect. What,if anyting, shoul I make of that? She kept asking me to look at her"See, you DO have eyes. Very pretty ones a that". Well, as of about an hour ago I am on Prozac for depression and I feel no different....umm....that's it.

They appear to be probing questions concerning OCD, and perhaps AS; I don't know how well one could answer these questions unless they were given examples, as it's usually hard for an individual to know if they do a ritual or not. The clothes and how they "feel" appear to be OCD related, if she means that they mentally have to "feel" comfortable for you to wear them, or it could be in relation to AS for you like the routine of wearing the same stuff, or the texture/colour/fit of the clothes.

Obviously, you were lacking in eye contact, and she asked you to look at her; she probably wished to see how you interact if you're making eye contact.

Really does sound like she asked for symptoms of Asperger's. Or, disorders related to AS.

Do you have to see her again?

I'll go to Orlando someday. It looks nice on television at least. Lol.

What was it like there?

Blackcat,

Your post makes it sound like you already figured it out. It DOES sound like she was looking for AS. You DO sound like you are AS. HOPEFULLY, she will diagnose you that way, and explain to your mother that you AREN'T crazy or deficient, but merely different. MAYBE your mother will look at things a different way and reconcile.

We can HOPE anyway!

Prozac takes four to six weeks for it to effect a lot of people. Need to be patient.

When your sex drive disappears you know it's working.

Yes, it sounds like she was trying to find out if you have AS. The comment about your eyes suggests that she thought you do have it. Did you mention AS? If so, was it before she said those things? Just wondering if she was responding to something you had said or only her own observations.

Honestly...I don't think I've ever really had one.

No, I did not. I was too nervous to do much more than answer her questions.

She did give examples. She ment physically I guess. Like tags and stuff. And we did talk about me wearing the same stuff unless I am forced to do otherwise.
