I know I do, even with the little things. For example, I have trouble shopping. A lot of times I can't decide on what I want to buy because I am confused by the enormity of the selection before me. All of the colors, shapes, textures, whatever, all advertising "Buy Me!" I am constantly analysing the differant properties: whether I will like it, will it be too much, will it possibly taste bad(if it is food)etc. This sounds good in practice, but it ends up taking a lot of time. Even choosing a candy bar takes about a half hour. So many times I just stand there gazing at the selection, dazzled by choice and its near- infinate possibilities.

Does anyone else have this too?

oh yes indeedy..to the point where I will take forever...and then choose none-of the above...especially if they don't have what I am used to getting.

I have trouble shopping for food...so when Flakey tells me to get stuff for us to eat for the week...I will completely draw a blank 8O ...and end up getting something really stupid.

Sometimes if someone throws several different choices at me all at once, I will go into brain lockdown and not be able to deal with any of them.

Food is usually pretty easy especially in restaurants because I only usually eat 1 or 2 things at each place. Kinna cuts down on the indecision. Practice has taught me that if I vary from these items, I usually don't like the result. So, best to stick with what you know you like.

Defanitly. I have that problem when people ask me "What do you want to do?" I am afraid people will get pissy and be like "I don't want to do thattttt!" and I'm like "You asked me and I said what I'D like to do" Most of the time I am in a loop with myself for a total of 10 mintues before I make up my mind.

Shopping, since all my friends parents are broke and jobs are a pain to get when your not 18, I PAY FOR THEM. When I am out shopping half the time I see something I'd like but can never afford or when I can I buy it and regret it because I rethink it and say "I could have used this money for this, this, this, and that!" Or I won't buy it thinking that and regret not getting it.

Yes definitely! It takes me forever to shop.

It took me 15 minutes to pick out a brand of toilet paper last time I went grocery shopping. There's so many kinds and they're all so similar. I kept trying to calculate which one was cheapest per roll, but then some brands say their rolls are 2x as big. Then I was trying to calculate their cost per foot, but then I was thinking how would I factor in the quality? Some brands feel better, but how do I quantify that?

This happens with all kinds of things, when I have multiple choices of similar products.

Yeah I get pretty obsessive over little things. Sometimes I think I'm a robot.

Oh gosh yes.
I cannot make any decisions, even small ones.
And when I have big ones to make its like the world is crashing down around me.

For instance a current big decision.
Im on holiday in the Caymans and there is a Lalique shop here, and I collect Lalique and I've fallen in love with this piece, I fell in love with 3 over two weeks i've narrowed it down to one and im leaving tomorrow so I have to decide by today, its $650 which is a lot of money but then it is beautiful and it would be a memory etc. If I don't get it im getting a $25 cuddly toy and for some reason my parents are encouraging the piece of Lalique?!

My head is literally splitting in two because its so difficult, normally adults help (I say adults im 20 myself) because they say 'logical' things that make me feel guilty for spending money and I give up because it gets to confusing but now im being in encouraged not to buy toys...humans are confusing, decisions should be banned.

Yeah, I can easily spend a half an hour making the most miniscule decision.

Yes, quite often, its harder than it used to be. Before, I would just stick to the same old thing without question, then when something happens to upset the routine, a new choice has to happen and that is hard.

Yes, I'm like a donkey between two haystacks when I have to make a choice. That is why I a) often stick with what I'm used to, or b) use logic (when shopping, I usually figure out what comes cheaper) to help me make a decision.

I have difficulty with even the simplest of decisions. The one I face on a daily basis is "What do you want to eat for dinner?"

It is the mental equivalent of a computer freeze. Guaranteed blank look.

I think my real problem is committing to a decision. I can definitely favor one over the other, but I am loathe to commit one way or the other.

Yes, I do this. I don't know what color is best, what clothes to wear, what I will order to eat (never once been to a restaurant or even fast-food place without hearing "we'll need a little more time" from my companions for me), nothing. Even yes-or-no choices like, "I like this item. Should I purchase it?"
However, when the choice isn't anything personal like color or preference, I can easily see the best option. For instance, when buying outdoor gear, I know all the specs for each item and then it's easy to see which is the best. (That's not to say I won't still hesitate based on some indefinable preference that makes me indecisive.)

Oh HELL YEAH!! !!

My wife hates leaving me up to make decisions, I just sit in a permanent thought loop until I'm forced to just choose one (which if its the wrong choice, I'll usually go back on it), or I leave the decision up to someone else.

If it's something where I have a clear choice in mind before I've even been posited with the decision, I'll be able to decide easily (but that's because I work it all out beforehand).

My other problem is that there are so many choices I often get anxious about a choice I make being the wrong choice and i'll just leave and not make a decision.

Or if I do make a decision I get anxious about maybe it being the wrong decision, and I think about taking it back as I could do other things with the money or I might upset someone, and most of the time I do take it back, usually to the displeasure of the salesperson.
