It's so unfair...

to pretend to be very interested in what you're saying, which encourages you to expand on it, only to hear later from other people that the person complained about you being a drag to talk to.

to put you in a situation where you can't please 2 people because they want opposite things from you, yet if you displease one of them, you're out.

Why do people have to be so unfair. :( :( :( :( :( :(

How can people be so heartless and unfair? topic

This just happened to me at a job I was terminated from because I was too unco-ordinated. The woman who was training me said I was interesting and intelligent to talk to and even said I was doing a good job. I cannot read faces or I would have picked up on her impatience( I only 'see' it now in restrospect). I can only conclude that she did not want to tell me the truth to my face. This is not only unfair, it is cowardly and unprofessional! :x

I have no idea myself why this happens Greentea. Being around backstabbing suckasses bugs the hell out of me. There are people that I have met in my life that I have had disagreements and we got to be friends because I knew that they would not be backstabbing jerks. Obsequious suckass snitches, on the other hand, cannot ever be trusted.

I tend to keep what I say brief for that very reason. Usually I can read if people are getting bored too - look for the eyes wandering and things like that,

They are doing it to "be polite".

They don't understand that to us it is rude to be phony & fake!

There is value in being quiet in many situations. If you want to fit in just listen. Everyone loves a good listener - even if you really don't care about what they are saying.

From what I have learned, this may not always be true. But I guess you're right in general.

I had this for years. So now I say as little as possible, even though now people complain about my 'uncommunicativeness'.

Better to keep one's mouth closed and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

I don't why I thought about it but I talk to a person about things. She seem to appear distracted like not listening to the whole thing.

I ask whether I said something that was boring. Her replied was that she was tired.

A good trump card for checking the attentiveness is by asking whether the person is bored from it. It doesn't alway work but who know?

If the person doesn't like you, that is a obvious odd of not being listen.

Well put, I do try to listen to the ppl I work with complaining and boasting, but I cannot do it day in and day out. The guys I work with talk about how much money they have in the bank every day and I'm supposed be interested and impressed. It just bores me to tears! They tell me how easy my job is and how hard theirs is. And I'm expected to agree with them. I would rather just eat my lunch by myself thank you. But they have a problem with that and will talk about me and say i'm weird.

Don't become a politician. If you do, half of America will hate you for whatever you do.
But on the real subject, yes, it is unfair, but do what politicians do and give a vague answer that doesn't say much but makes everyone happy.
