Can anyone give me some examples of AvPD, and how it differs from AS? I mean some concrete examples, not just a textbook definition.

I started reading about it a couple days ago, and I can see how I'd fit into AvPD category, but I also see a lot of overlap between that, and AS.

From what I've read, symptoms of Avoidant Personality Disorder have many of the same social problems, but the cause and effect are reversed; APD folks tend to steer away from social interaction because they're depressed/feel unworthy. AS types probably feel depressed because they suck at socializing. In the end, what you have is two groups of people who don't socialize and are probably depressed.

But there's nothing about APD that suggests they're hyperfocused, or inattentive, or repetitive in behavior, hypersensitive, etc. and other AS traits
