I don't want to go to work. If I think about working for eight hours I start to go into something similar to a panic attack. If I'm at work and start to think about how much time I have left to the shift, the same thing happens. My work is repetetive and meaningless. I enjoy working hard and my job is easy, so I don't know why this is happening. It has happened on all my previous full-time jobs so I kept quitting them. My job history now sucks. I just don't want to spend my time at work. I have thought about trying for disability, but I don't have a diagnosis and it can take two years to get the disablity (I think it's two years). When I think about these things, I feel like there is no way out and it sends me into a major depression episode. What is wrong with me? :(

Maybe a work-from-home type of job is for you. That way you wouldn't have to go anywhere to get to work (so no feeling like you need to escape, since you can always take a break and escape into your own home immediately), and maybe it wouldn't be as hard for you if you set your own schedule and therefore never needed to "force" yourself to finish a shift or wait for a break.
If you can't find a job like this, there are also some part-time jobs where you set your own schedule (though you don't work at home) and can thus at least leave if you need to, or miss a day if you have to.

I agree. I'm still in High School, but I already know that I will be going into a field with minimal human contact.

I think that if you have such troubles in the workplace, then a work-at-home job is probably what you're most ready for, and skilled to do.

Sadly, the vast majority of Americans are, for the most part, miserable at work. Join the club. I don't want to spend my time in school right now, but I have to, because that's the way this society works. The sooner you start to accept that, the better.

I agree that a work-from-home job might be a good option. Or, if you can find a job that challenges you in ways that you like, or relates to an interest of yours, that might help. What interests do you have?

Nope, there is nothing wrong with you at all. I was in the prison we call monotonous, mind-numbing work for about nine months streight. I thought I was going to kill myself. Maybe one day you could consider working for yourself. Some of us simply aren't designed to be used as someone else's tools.

Thanks for the input everybody.

What kind of full time jobs can you do at home? I've seen some in newspaper ads, but they were pyramid scams. I would do good with a job at home. I would also do good with a part time job, but I would have trouble paying the bills. The only two jobs I enjoyed were part time jobs. It would be nice if I could work a part time job and get government help to cover the bills.

I understand that! I worked as a temporary assembling parts in a factory for a year, and everyone made fun of me.
