A minute ago, I asked how you liked math. Now I'm asking, are you any good at math?

I struggle with it.

I'm very good at doing calculations, I'm bad at abstract thinking.

I do it very well. I work in a trade where we use a lot of Math, and very few can keep up with me.

I can do well with higher level math and have no problems with the abstract concepts of math, but I'm so slow at basic arithmetic that it counts as a learning disorder.

I'm average in math. I just posted that in the other topic. I just posted here for another post count.

I'm a bit of the same. I can understand and write complex proofs of mathematical theorems yet I stink at number crunching, comparatively speaking. I can do arithmetic as well as the average person, but when I take a tests in classes full of other math nerds I'm at a major disadvantage in terms of speed.

I don't think mental arithmetic is a measure of intelligence anyways. Computers can kick any ones ass at arithmetic.

I can do algebra and complex equations, but I cannot perform simple computations in my head. In restaurants, I always get my husband to compute the tip for the waiter/waitress on the receipts. Simple mental two digit additions or subtractions REALLY throw me. A kind of thick fog drops down as soon as I think to myself... "OK... so 38 minus 16...." And I go blank.

I have noticed my multiplication tables have slipped away, too, but guessing that's just a combo of my not using them and the AS.

I would be great at math, except I avoid it because it's not an obsession I want to have (I also avoid things like chess and puzzles like sudoku).

I get the numbers swimming through my head and it's difficult to concentrate. It all becomes a giant time-sink and I'd rather focus on more abstract sort of projects.

I'm about average in math. I was always better in English and anything that required a lot of reading.

"I struggle with math even more than most people."

In school I struggled with math a lot and failed nearly almost every math test, but there are a few exceptions...
When I was aged 5-8, I was average at math...I used to score between 60-80% in tests. I found that as the math became harder and more complex after that, is where I began to get confused. By the time I was in high school, I was failing every math test I was given, literally.

I'm 16 now and still confused doing math suited to a 10 year old.

I was never that good in math. I was surprised that I did so well in math here at the university.
