I dunno what this is, really. It only happened to me today.I was listening to audioslaves song "be yourself", and these mint green waves of color on a black background just randomly popped into my head.

And i tried to get the same thing to happen with other music..but it seemed to forced and fake for some reason.

Then i forget about it, until a heard the song "hold me" by the trews and the same thing happened, only the waves moved differently and they were a coppery golden colour. But it's never happened before and only with those to songs.

Has this happened to anyone else before?

:?: :?: :?:

Things are sometimes colours for me too - mostly food (tomato sauce tastes deep greenish-navy blue), but glockenpop by spiderbait is pale lemony yellow and I just tried some audioslave - doesn't remind me seemed more forest green. I haven't had a black background, but the colours do move.

There weird thing for me is i tried seeing it again, but mostly i didn't see it for that particular song, just kind of a thought that kept going through my head "This song is mint green".

Only other thing I've noticed is that heavy basslines are a deep purple, almost indigo.

Again, this only started happening today.

I'm a tad bit scared. :?

Oh, yeah, it's called 'synaesthesia'. Its a strong mixing of the senses. It can be innate, or learned. I think though that it is most influenced by intense emotional and visual thinking. The former fuels the latter and the latter sustains the former.

I don't associate colours with bands, but certain musical keys are coloured for me.

C major is royal blue.
F major is sky blue.
Eb major is indigo.
Ab major is a slightly more purple shade than Eb major.
Db major is deep purple with a hint of blue and highlights of gold.
Gb major is deeper and more purple than that.
F# major has autumnal colours.
A major is golden.
a minor is honey-coloured.
e flat minor is a very dark blue, almost black.
c minor is similar to Eb major, but a darker shade.
d minor is a woody brown.

I don't actually see these colours when I hear these keys, but I imagine them.

I'm the same way. Different colors, of course. Numbers have colors for me, two.

What are your colours?

The colours for my numbers are:

0- Very dark blue, almost black.
2- Dark blue
3- Bright yellow.
4- Cornflower blue.
6- Similar to 2, but lighter
7- Golden yellow.
8- The same as 6.
9- A kind of brownish-greenish-yellow.

I've always been fascinated by this kind of stuff, but never experienced it for myself =/

I think I have mild synesthesia as well. I 'see' people in different colours and scents, and a few numbers in different colours.
