reasons why i have been quiet all this time

first of all, this is mainly for the attention of a Mr Alex Plank (owner/admin/whatever he calls himself)

Alex, i joined this forum in March (roughly) and more or less soon after i started to hear bad things about this site, i would like clarification on what is true and what isn't before i continue to post. before you ask the question, i have not heard these from other sites or chatrooms or forums, just friends (who shall remain anonymous so not to cause upset)

my questions are:

Have you banned users for no reason
Have you spread malicious rumors about other sites and their owners (i can't remember which sites you have spread rumours about)
Have you copied content off other autism sites
Do you create fake members

Now it is up to you whether you lock this thred and ban me, OR you answer my questions truthfully. I am not a spy, i am a genuine aspie just after some answers (dxed at 13-15)

Please answer these truthfully, i want to know the truth before i decide whether to use this forum

as for point #4, I do suspect member numbers are somewhat inflated. by several orders of magnitude, even.

If Alex banned people for no reason, I probably would have been gone about a month ago.

Thats the thing about first impressions, you only get to make one. Oh and welcome to the site.

one other thing i better inform you that i'm 23, my dx was mid 90s, hence the ages i stated (just to clear that up

I have been here only a short time, so i cannot judge the rest of the sites activities, but i have felt that wrongplanets image is very good so far.

are you so sure? its claimed theres over a k and a half users, but it seems barely a few dozen have ever posted. I'm sure Alex has auto-genrated the majority of that number.

I've seen people in the chatroom before that don't have a single post to their credit, and they don't sound like Alex talking either.

i have noticed that alex hasn't answered any of my questions, yet he is online
he is either reluctant to answer OR he hasn't had the time

I still wait to here what he has to say

Pikachu, I'm pretty sure that rumors #1 and 4 are unfounded, but I'd be curious what Alex has to say about #2 and I know that there was once a little bit of truth behind #3, but that has been resolved. Personally, I don't see any of the above as a reason not to use the site.

Are you a spy from another site, or are you just trying to catch him out or own him?

I don't really see why any of this matters, to be honest. If a user was banned for no reason they could come back and argue their case.

All forums have a huge amount of members that register and never bother to post. It's a fact. I'd be like, "oh, damn!" if I found one that didn't.

Well, I do post fairly regularly on this forum, but I'm guess I'm "guilty" of contributing to those "inflated numbers" on quite a few other forums!

you misunderstand me. Of course forums have members who never post. But theres just a way disproportinatly large number here, the majority of which I'm sure were autogenerated.

I think I know who has been whispering in your ear.

I've been here since September, and spent several months running it with Alex before stepping down. I can assure you: we don't ban members for no reason from this site

The member numbers are real - and yeah, loads of people do join and dont post. And some of us are more vocal than others *ahem*

As regards 'copying content', I assume you are referring to the recent altercation with jypsy. I will keep out of that one, but must point out that it was not passed off as this site's own content.

There have been more malicious rumours flying around than you can shake a stick at unfortunately. These have come from various sources, but there are some very vocal noises coming from some individuals who were ejected from WP. I can't tell you what to believe, but there is always more than one side to a story.
