Creepy. This is by far the most common adjective that people have predicated to describe me. It has been consistant for at least 7 years. I think at least 8 people in this time have independantly said I was "creepy", and I never had any such pretensions. It's pretty irritating and depressing, most of the time. But I wonder: is this a common adjective to predicate to quiet people who don't smile? Who else has been called creepy, and why?

Yeah, either creepy or grumpy.

My friends once told me that I scare girls away. Not cool.

I think the first time I got this was during my senior year of high school, when a girl said "You're scaring me". Since then, I've gotten this quite a bit. Now I know that sometimes it's because I get too "touchy" with girls, but there must be more to it. Because I went to a frat party recently that a friend in the frat invited me to, and when I later asked my friend about possibly joining the frat, he said he wasn't sure because I was apparently scaring the girls. And all I was doing was talking to them. Maybe I came on a bit too strong, but I didn't do anything that could be called straight-up creepy.

I've had all kinds of adjectives and nouns used to describe me.

I did a project junior year of high school in which I had to create a childrens book, by far the most agonizing project I ever undertook in high school. These were then displayed for all to see in my class.

While on display, someone took the liberty to scrawl on the inside of the back cover really small "Hey there freak boy"

weird is a very common word used to describe me.

I generally think creepy guys are the ones that stare at girls from afar then try and use pick up lines on them, mostly quiet spoken.

perhaps guys that stare at girls from afar and use pick up lines (not spoken softly) and happen to be football players would be viewed in an entirely more positive light?

No one has ever called me creepy... I guess I'm just too creepy for them to talk to at all :\ heh

I think at some point after columbine people stopped disrespecting me directly. This must put me in some category. Sure I could devise the best plan to attack any building for maximum success, but I could just as easily devise plans to counter such attacks. I guess people don't distinguish between the good and bad applications of certain knowledge - they merely live in fear of knowledge because it can be dangerous.

I would describe myself as weird, for things I see and believe in and some see that way also.

"Lurch" was the favourite term. Once one person used it that was it. I now think of this with some pride.

Football players are usually joking with their mates, not lurking alone in a dark corner.

You just gave me insight of what my son must be going through as he has told me what most of these posts have been said. I alway thought he was exaggerating the fact. Not that he knew that.
Does anyone here have a suggestion of how to help his self-esteem about this? I'm trying to get him to join this place so he doesn't feel so alone and show him that he's not the only one going through this.
Thank you for any relpy
Mom just trying to help and I will believe him in my heart.

I'm only considered creepy when

A. I talk like a rat/barfly/cowboy/surfer/skater, or any other type of person generally frowned upon.

B.People think I'm trying to hit on them.

or

C. I talk in a voice that is quiet, but threatening.
