I never know what to say at the end of a letter or e-mail so I often just don't sign anything to it, even my name. It feels wierd to say "sincerely" or "love", etc. Anyone else?

if its business related or something official like ill sign it "yours sincerely" or if its to a relative or friend ill sign it "love"

i used to feel that way when i was younger though, the more letters you write the more you'll get used to it (i did anyway *shrugs*

I hated it, but my mother made me do it. I swear that the rules for thank you notes could have be easily followed by mail merge.

I'm used to it now, though I have had problems writing it when "Love" is in the zone between absolutely true and social nicety.

"Best wishes" is a good one. Not too formal but nonetheless unlikely to offend.

When it's someone I know very well I sign it "Love and dinysors, Me."

Yeah, I never know how to close it. What my final line should be. Most of the time it feels like i'm ending the letter in mid-thought. And i always use sincerely. Always.

I just put

~Specter

(because I like the squiggly :D)
sometimes I end with "see you soon" or "hope you have a good evening," but that's only with one person. I agree that saying "love" or "sincerely" is weird :S

Unless I mean it I do not say it so I just sign my name unless the feeling or thought is “heart felt”. Of course I also do not capitalize my name because I think it is societally presumptuous.

I guess I did not do very well in the “lying” portion of my social skills training.

I never know what to say either. I've spent hours stressing over how to end an email or letter. Everything sounds too fakely affectionate or generic or boring or cold. So I usually just sign my name.

I have a hard time finding what to write as well sometimes. I love the way Charles Bukowski occasionally ended his letters:

okay,

or

sure,

or

yes,

I like unexpected endings. :D The typical ones sound cold to me, almost fake.

For letters, I put 'sincerely'. For e-mails, I put TTYL or TTYS (talk to you soon).

It depends.

Either:

Cheers,
My initials

or:

Best,
My initials

If it's an e-mail regarding a job or something similar, I sign it like it's a letter.
