Okay, I know this doesn't interest most of you and it seems pretty random, but I'm so excited I'm going to tell you anyroad!

In december, I went to see a doctor about an internal congenital hand deformity which had been irritated by playing guitar. I love my guitars above people and anything else. This doctor told me to give up guitar and writing for the rest of my life because I'd never be able to use my hands properly. Of course, I got very upset and my mum dragged me out of there and went to get another opinion.

The other day, Aug 30, I went to get that second opinion. I went to see Dr. John Chong, a performing arts specialist in Hamilton. This guy was so cool! He said that, although he could operate and fix the problem, he wanted to see if we could make it better without surgery. He prescribed these Chinese Jingle Balls to do exercises iwth, and two new computer programs to help me use my hands less.

Because of him I got a new computer and, for the first time in over half a year, I left a doctor's office laughing. Actually, it was the first time since I was nine. Dr. Chong is also going to report the first surgeon I saw, the one who traumatised me and tell people he was mean!

Anyone else have good doctor stories (just to try to make this post relevant!)?

That's really wonderful! It's horrible being told you can't do your favourite thing. I'm glad you got a second opinion.

The doctor we went to when we lived in London was pretty mean. She was a grumpy old woman who nobody liked, and she misdiagnosed me when I had an ingrown toenail- kept giving me antibiotics which had no effect.

Shortly after we left London and came back to Australia, we heard that she had committed suicide.

Well I guess this is an example of a not very good doctor.

I had a very good OB/GYN, but apparently he had irreconcilable person difficulties. His wife was the nurse at his private practice. Both wonderful people. Or so I thought!

My son is now 10yo. Shortly after he was born, we heard that the doc had been caught having an affair with one of the nurses over at the hospital. A few weeks later his wife and kids found him dead: he hung himself in their attic. 8O

Hey Taineyah, well I'm all for positivity! Great to hear about that... and it does seem to me that in this day and age, positive medical stories are getting rarer so that was inspiring. Ha ha ha.

Dr. John Chong huh? My last name, hyphenated, is Chong-Wong. Hahaha.
