I've seen this term mentioned a couple of times on WP. What is social imagination, and how does it differ from the regular type?

Is that the ability to imagine exactly the same thing that everyone else is imagining, so that everyone remains in lock-step together?

Didn't Hitler and Stalin have lots of social imagination?

I think it's the ability to imagine social situations, figure out what you do in them, figure out what other people must be meaning and saying and subtexting and all that... putting yourself in other people's shoes... all the things that are hard for Aspies.
