Does anyone else get quite emotional at times when thinking or talking about their special interest? For instance, for me it's airplanes. I have a strong emotional connecting to them, and I sometime can get quite emotion when talking about them or thinking about them.. quite odd and i'm wondering if this is only me.

I'm like that with things that I wouldn't necessarily describe as my special interest, but about which I feel enthusiastic. For example, at seminars at uni, I start talking about social constructionism and get so earnest about it that if I make eye-contact with someone I tear-up.

It's a special interest.
How could some thing be special AND an interest and not have any emotional impact at all? Impossible say I.

Special Interest is just another way of saying we're passionate about something, right? =)

He's got a point.

I do sometimes, though. When I talk about my interest (Pokemon right now), I can get emotional occasionally.
