LATE dx: Question:
Hi-
I am trying to figure out if this is typical or if they may have gotten it wrong on me. I know that psychology is still philosophy until they can take a blood test and tell me for sure. I am just not 100% comfortable with my DX. At frist I felt relieved but I am not sure. I know many go through this, but maybe people on here can help because I seem to be weird even on here!
Here goes: I had some symptoms as a baby- thumping head, not wanting to be held, not wanting to be comforted, aloof, etc. But I talked well and seemed to develop.
From 5-12 I seemed pretty normal except some sensory problems and rigid schedule.
But at 13- in a single month, everything exploded. I lost ability to eat, to socialize, to make meanign out of stimuli, etc. I went into a a prison. Sensory agony and rigid schedule became so pronounced that by 15 I was wrecked.
But by then I was severally anorexic and that is what they focused on. When that resolved, I was and still dealing with the other isues.
Has this happened to anyone here? Functioning OK from 5-12, then hit big time in adolescence and never resolved?
The only thing that happened at that time was the MMR booster shot and strep, two things I know have been linked, but I am not so sure.
Forgive me for going back and forth on this. My insurance is measley and will not permit anymore private help. But I am on an 18 month wait list for public. I will be here till then, asking questions from those who have gone through this.
Thank you-
