I wanted to ask about obsessions and interests. I have a few obsessions, but one seems to be getting a bit out of hand and I'm worried about it. Basically I'm obsessed with policemen, lol. I know lots of women love men in uniform but like I said it's getting out of control. I've dated 2 policemen in the past 6 weeks. Whenever I see police cars or policemen I go crazy, in a way I don't think is healthy. I've seriously considered leaving my career to become a police officer, but haven't only because they are not recruiting in my area. And the most worrying thing is that I have started driving really recklessly so I can hopefully get stopped by the police. I have never driven recklessly before and when I do it I know I shouldn't but I can't help myself. I've been very close to having several accidents just in the past week and am really worried. How can I stop this obsession?

That is a crazy obsession hope they don't arrest you!! !! lol best to control that one it is a bit of a dangerous obsession.

You really need to get this obsession under control, especially in regards to your driving. You could accidentally injure/kill someone else, or yourself. Not to mention the fact that, even if you don't hurt anyone, when the police pull you over you'll get a ticket and have to pay for it. Why not satisfy your obsession by watching cop shows? Or maybe you could just hang out in the local donut shop and chat with the cops who stop by there.

Ditto about the driving.

I would try to find a different obsession. I understand though, I get crazy and weird obsessions myself and it's usually people. A long, long time ago I had an obsession on a police officer even. At least you've managed to date a few, I didn't get that far with my obsession. But it could have been bad if I would have kept it up, I just had to make myself stop but I can't remember what my new obsession was after that. I wish I was the type of Aspie to get obsessed more with things like math or building things, I think life would be better that way at least.

Yikes. Reminds me of when I used to drive fast because I could. I prided myself in my ability to speed FAR above the speed limit and never get pulled over. It was a dangerous obsession of mine that eventually, years later.. landed me with criminal speed charges. A suspension later, and a big fine.. I learned my lesson and I found a different obsession.

I suggest you do the same.
