Do you ever know what someone is going to say or explain to you, way before they have finished what they are saying.

I find this irritating as i am just waiting for them to stop gibbering.

When someone is taking a bloody long time to get around to saying something, yes I am very prone to just summarising what they're trying to say in a single sentence and telling them to continue from there.

yes, i find this very annoying

sometimes i just switch off and zone out so i miss their point entirely or bluntly cut them off mid-conversation to summarize it for them

Yes definitely. They just keep rephrasing their point even though they've already said everything they need to say. I never do that, which is why I am always marked down for essay writing. I say everything clearly and logically, and include all information, but there aren't enough words, so I have to keep rambling on about nothing for the rest of the time. I find it really irritating.

YEP! What I REALLY hate is when I know what they will ask/say even before they start, sometimes before I do, and what they say is WRONG, sometimes I even say so before they say what they said.

This thread kinda reminds me of that song Have You Ever by the Offspring.
I always liked that track! ^_^
I can sing it word for word, note for note, right down to the tone of voice.

Yes, but I have different reaction because the only person I regularly communicate with is my boyfriend & I don't experience this as a problem. We do this (sentence finishing or point summarizing) for each other-I find it affirming & comforting (how well we know each other) rather than annoying. It's romantic to me that he & I are used to (familiar with) each other's minds. It's not done to "shut each other down" but merely to express "yeah, I know where you're going with this & I agree so you don't need to continue as if I didn't 'get it'."

However, this is just my personal situation, and I realize that with other people it could be wholly different & unpleasant.

When it comes to strangers who don't have a clue about me, then I get upset feeling that no matter what I say, they won't understand (or will mistake what I mean). I have all sorts of anticipatory disclaimers that I throw at folks since I've been through certain types of idiotic conversations too many times already & am in hurry to get past the obligatory misconceptions.

This happens to me very often, I always try to cut them off by saying 'I already know' but they still keep gappering..... I hate it.

It's a bit annoying. I do interrupt quite a bit just for that reason... I guess to me, communication is best at a certain density of idea-per-time, and if the density's too low, I get bored. I haven't encountered too-high density except for twice: Once, on a paragraph I was asked to memorize for a test of memory; and the second time in a badly-written history book which had probably 6-8 distinct facts per sentence. (Wouldn't have been so bad if the sentences were long, but they weren't.) Weirdly enough, the "density" of classically supposed-to-be-difficult writing, such as the Bible or a scientific journal seems to be on the high end of comfortable. The history book, on the other hand, was supposed to be at a college freshman level. Go figure.
